WDIO: A 9th hat in the ring, Denise Slipy announces run for Minnesota Senate District 6 seat

Denise Slipy of Crow Wing County became the latest candidate to throw their hat in the ring for the newly vacant Minnesota Senate District 6 seat on Thursday, March 27th.

By announcing her candidacy, Slipy is now one of 9 candidates and the second DLF-er to announce their run.

Governor Tim Walz announced a special election on April 29, a special primary on April 15 is likely given the number of candidates in the race.

The seat was previously filled by former senator Justin Eichorn, who resigned after being charged with soliciting a minor.

Candidates have until April 1 to declare they are running, and until April 2 to drop out.
